Google Does it Again! Keyword Tool Now Has Search Stats
Google has done it again. Since Yahoo let the free Overture keyword tool go, there hasn’t been a decent way to find mass search stats without paying a lot of money or joining Yahoo’s Search Network. Enter Google. They have now started providing approximate search volume for every keyword, they also give you related keyword data to help you build your AdWords campaign. But they didn’t hide it and require that you have an AdWords account to use it. It’s also available as an external tool for anyone to see. Basically, they just looked at Yahoo and went, pffffffffttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!
Google has posted a keyword tool tutorial showing you ho to use it externally and how to use it from within your AdWords campaign.
Here’s the quote from the Google Blog announcement:
Keyword Tool updated with search volume data
Based on advertiser feedback, and our commitment to provide useful tools and information for our advertisers, we’ve now added search volume data to the Keyword Tool. Now, when you use the Keyword Tool to search for relevant keywords to include in your keyword list, you’ll be able to see the approximate number of search queries matching your keywords that were performed on Google and the search network. These approximate numbers are intended to provide better insight into keywords’ monthly and average search volumes than previously provided by the tool.
